WHY CHOOSE DENTAL IMPLANT

Dental implant is ideal for replacement of teeth lost due to disease, accidents or even where teeth are congenitally missing. Besides having a natural appearance and function, implant-supported restorations are most stable and durable compared to other methods of tooth replacement.

Dental implant also has other long-term benefits such as it promotes bone growth and therefore prevents bone atrophy and in some cases, helps maintain the shape of the face.

Implant Centre

Dentalpro’s Implant Centre is a complete facility which offers you the professional care of highly qualified and experienced team of specialists, dental surgeons and technologist in a clinical setting focused on ensuring successful implant procedures; regardless if it is standard implant or complex cases. The centre is fully equipped with high-end technology required for precision in planning and surgery as well as comfort for patients during procedure.

Implant Centre Team

Implant technology alone cannot guarantee the success of an implant. Technique, skill, experience and the right approach of the clinicians play a vital role in implant procedures. Careful selection of material and meticulous case planning by a highly experienced team of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon and Dental Surgeons are key to a successful implant procedure.

Dental Implant

Dental implant is the closest possible replacement of natural teeth. It is most stable and durable tooth restoration. It is seen as the ultimate long-term dental solution and as it involves relatively high costs, plenty of consideration is given by patients prior to making this “investment” in dental restoration.

Our team leaves nothing to chance in ensuring each of these “investments” a success. Thorough examination and evaluation of a patient’s condition and expectations is carried out before this procedure is recommended.

All implant products (implant screw and abutment) are made with high quality titanium or zirconium oxide. Implant material has been improved over the years to increase the rate of success and speed of recovery.

Standard implants of between 3.5mm to 6mm in diameter are used in most implant cases. These implants will support individual crowns and bridge once the implants have fully healed.

Treatment Planning

The first step towards effective dental care is an accurate evaluation of a patient's dental health and requirements. All this is possible given the level of experience between our Implant Centre Team and with the help of our state-of-the-art equipment including Cone Beam Computed Topography (CBCT) with orthopantomogram (OPG) and Lateral Skull, a digital periapical X-ray (PA) as well as Digital Scanning and Implant 3D Simulation (DSIS) for complex cases.

From the findings, a patient’s condition will be ascertained and a treatment plan can be established. The outcomes can be projected and presented using study models or computer simulated planning (DSIS) for multiple implants.

Digital Scanning and Implant 3D Simulation (DSIS)

DSIS planning is highly recommended for multiple implant placement and complex conditions such as varying bone density and volume. The planning begins with digital scanning of the patient’s mandible and of the oral maxilla. Integrated with data from Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) the combined data will produce a three-dimensional anatomic model which allows real-time manipulation of virtual implants. The 3D model is used to assess the optimal combination of implant sites and implant angulation given the clinically oriented view of the patient’s bone density and structures. The end result is a precise and personalized surgical guide for the implant placements and implant restorations.

Prior to implant placement, the patient’s jaw bones and general health condition must be ready to receive the implant. Depending on your general health and dental condition, this may include:-

  • The lowering of your blood sugar level if you are diabetic
  • Putting you on pre-treatment medication if you have certain heart conditions
  • Performing bone augmentation procedures such as bone grafting, ridge expansion and sinus lift, to enhance bone quantity, thickness or depth should the jaw bone condition is not ideal.

Patient without any of the above conditions may commence with implant procedure almost immediately after consultation & examination.

Implant Placement Procedure

The first step in an implant treatment is the placement of the implant in the jaw. This is done via a minor surgical procedure under local anesthesia. Temporary crowns or dentures can be fitted immediately after implantation to restore temporary functions and aesthetics. The implant is then left to heal over a period of 3 to 6 months.

Upon full integration of the implant and bones, an implant abutment which is the core of the replacement tooth (implant prosthesis) is attached to the implant and a crown is prepared.

Recovery

The downtime of this treatment is very minimal. Recovery from the minor surgical procedure is a matter of hours; during which time patients will feel some discomfort and will be put on a soft diet and standard painkillers for about 24 hours.

The healing and integration of the implant itself to the jaw bone will take around 3-6 months; depending on the health of the patient's jaw bone and oral hygiene' at which time the prosthesis (crown) will be fixed.

Implant Restoration/Crown Procedure

Once the implant abutment is completely healed and is fully integrated with the jaw bone, the procedure to finish the implant with a prosthesis ie. crown or bridge; depending on case, will commence. This process normally takes around 2-3 weeks with a few visits to the Implant Centre.

Once fitted, your tooth replacement is complete and your natural tooth function is fully restored.

Care for Implant

It is important to step up the care of your oral hygiene during the healing period. It is equally important to take care of the crown or bridge restoration, once completed, through optimizing oral hygiene, regular check-ups and professional tooth cleaning, in order to maximize its lifespan beyond 10 years.

Multiple Teeth Restoration With Implant

Multiple missing teeth can be restored by either:
• Placing a set of implant and crown to restore each missing tooth, OR
• Strategically placing one or more implants and filling the gap with a bridge of crowns.

Full Mouth Restorations with Implant

All-on-4 and Safe-on-4 All-on-4 and Safe-on-4

Both systems are based on a similar concept of a full-arch restoration using only four implants. The technique involves and angulated placement of 4 customized implant abutments for better retention of a long-span denture or bridge.

Indications
  • Missing all teeth on upper and/or lower jaw
Benefits
  • Reduced need for bone grafting
  • Immediately loaded with temporary restoration for convenience
  • Suitable for fixed and removable final prosthetic solution
Procedure
  • The procedure follows the same steps of animplant procedure.
  • Upon completion of the first stage, a temporary denture or bridge will be fitted to remain in place until the final restoration around 4 months later.
